Heaton Park Synagogue Attack: One Victim Was Likely Fired Upon by Police
In a devastating turn of events, a individuals lost at the Manchester synagogue assault is believed to have been shot dead by armed police officers.
Police Announcement Confirms Gunshot Wound
The chief constable of Greater Manchester Police announced that a forensic expert has initially concluded the victim succumbed to a bullet injury.
“Overnight, we have taken advice from the Home Office pathologist before full postmortem examinations set to occur later today. The expert indicated that he has provisionally determined a victim likely sustained a wound consistent with a gunshot injury.”
Suspect Details
The suspect, a 35-year-old individual, did not have a firearm, and all discharged rounds were by the police officers at the scene.
Authorities think the deceased was among those behind the synagogue door trying to stop the attacker from entering the building.

“It follows therefore pending further forensic examination, this injury was unfortunately incurred as a unintended and heartbreaking result of the urgently required action taken by my officers to bring this vicious attack to an end.”
Victims Identified
Both individuals who lost their lives at Heaton Park synagogue in north Manchester on Thursday had been named as Adrian Daulby, aged 53 and 66-year-old Melvin Cravitz.
These individuals lost their lives when a vehicle was employed to ram into the property of the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation synagogue, then stabbed worshippers in a six-minute rampage that concluded after armed officers shot at him twice, ending his life at the door of the temple.
Further Harm
Three more people sustained major injuries in the violent act on Yom Kippur, the most sacred occasion in the Jewish calendar.
The chief constable added, “Medical professionals have informed us that one of the three victims now hospitalized sustained a firearm injury, which is mercifully not life threatening. It is believed the two individuals were near each other behind the synagogue door, as attendees showed courage to stop the assailant from getting inside.”

Attacker Profile
Authorities identified the perpetrator as Shamie, thirty-five, a UK national of Syrian origin.
Greater Manchester police said that three additional individuals – two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s – had been arrested “on suspicion of commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism”.
